What I found (checked 27 October 2026)

  • MateSlots is Retrobet’s sister site: the Curaçao regulator lists both under Stable Tech N.V., licence OGL/2024/161/0191.
  • The difference is the market: MateSlots runs AUD accounts and A$ terms, while ACMA blocked Retrobet in March 2026.
  • Retrobet’s welcome is far bigger in cash, up to about A$23,900 plus 500 free spins; MateSlots offers up to A$6,750 plus 250.
  • Both cap bets at A$7.50 with a bonus and pay out around A$4,500 to A$4,800 a week.

My verdict

Pick MateSlots if you liked Retrobet and simply need a site that works for Australians: same company, same licence, same bet cap, but AUD accounts and an Australian focus. Pick Aerobet instead if your reason for leaving was Retrobet’s handling of withdrawals or verification, because MateSlots shares the same operator.

I checked Retrobet on 27 October 2026 and MateSlots on 21–27 October 2026. MateSlots publishes its terms in Australian dollars. Retrobet publishes its bonus and limits in euros; I converted them at A$1.59 per euro (ECB reference rate, 26 October 2026) and rounded. One review shows the same welcome tiers in AUD at face value, so an AUD account may see A$15,000 rather than about A$23,900. Winberry figures are its Canadian terms, converted at about A$1.01 per C$.

Two sister casinos come out close on almost every row, which is what you would expect from one company’s platform. The row MateSlots wins is the one that matters for Australians.

What it means that they are sister sites

The Curaçao regulator’s licence record is the strongest evidence I found: one licence, OGL/2024/161/0191, one company, Stable Tech N.V., and a list of approved domains that includes retrobet.com, mateslots.com and eleven other brands. The full list is on my Retrobet sister sites page.

In practice, that means three things for you:

  • The same rules. The A$7.50 bet cap with a bonus and the payout ranges match, and LCB quotes identical lower caps for both, 2,500 a week and 12,000 a month in LCB’s listed currency.
  • The same back office. Verification, payouts and bonus enforcement are run by the same company, so complaints about one are worth reading before you join the other.
  • Separate accounts. Closing or excluding yourself at Retrobet does not automatically cover MateSlots.

Welcome bonus compared

MateSlots runs four stages from A$30 each: 100% up to A$1,500 with 50 spins, 125% up to A$1,500 with 100 spins, 75% up to A$1,500 with 50 spins and 50% up to A$2,250 with 50 spins, for up to A$6,750 and 250 spins. Retrobet’s four stages run from 100% up to €1,000 (about A$1,590) to 50% up to €6,000 (about A$9,560), for up to €15,000 (about A$23,900) and 500 spins, at 50x on the bonus.

In practice: a A$100 first deposit gets a A$100 bonus at either casino; at Retrobet that means A$5,000 of bets, at MateSlots A$3,500 or A$4,000 depending on which wagering figure is right. Check both in my wagering calculator.

Retrobet vs MateSlots: FAQ

  • Is MateSlots a good alternative to Retrobet?

It is the closest one. MateSlots is run by the same company, Stable Tech N.V., under the same Curaçao licence, with the same A$7.50 bet cap. The difference is that it is built for Australians, with AUD accounts and A$ bonus terms. If you are leaving because of how Retrobet treated your withdrawals, pick a different operator instead.

  • Are MateSlots and Retrobet the same company?

Yes, according to the regulator. The Curaçao Gaming Authority’s record for licence OGL/2024/161/0191 names Stable Tech N.V., company number 160129, and lists both mateslots.com and retrobet.com among its approved domains, together with eleven other brands such as RollXO, SlotLords and Joo Casino.

  • Is MateSlots blocked in Australia like Retrobet?

I have not seen MateSlots in any ACMA blocking announcement, but I could not load ACMA’s full list from my connection, so I cannot rule it out. ACMA blocks domains, not companies, which is why one sister brand can be blocked while another still loads. Check the ACMA list before you deposit.

  • Which has more pokies, MateSlots or Retrobet?

It depends on which count you trust. LCB counts about 5,600 slots from roughly 146 studios at MateSlots. Reviews of Retrobet range from 4,000 to more than 11,000 games, with up to 340 studios in one catalogue scan. Both run on the same company’s platform, so many studios overlap.

  • Is the MateSlots bonus smaller than Retrobet's?

In cash, yes. MateSlots offers up to A$6,750 plus 250 free spins over four deposits from A$30 each. Retrobet offers up to €15,000, about A$23,900, plus 500 free spins over four deposits. Both cap bets at A$7.50 while the bonus runs; Retrobet’s wagering is 50x on the bonus, MateSlots’ 35x or 40x.

  • What are the MateSlots withdrawal limits compared with Retrobet?

MateSlots allows A$4,500 a week and A$22,500 a month, per TrueBlueCasinos. Retrobet allows €3,000 a week, about A$4,780, and €15,000 a month, about A$23,900, per LCB and AskGamblers. LCB quotes the same lower figures for both, 2,500 a week and 12,000 a month in LCB’s listed currency, which fits a shared platform.

  • Does closing my Retrobet account close MateSlots too?

Do not count on it. Each brand keeps its own accounts, even under one licence. If you want to stop playing at both, ask each casino in writing to close your account or apply self-exclusion. BetStop, Australia’s national register, does not cover offshore casinos such as these.

I am Alisa Naumova, editor of Retrobet Alternatives. I compare Retrobet with offshore casinos that Australians look at instead, using only what a reader can check: the company and licence number behind each brand, the regulator’s register, the bonus terms as written, payment methods, withdrawal caps converted to A$, and what review sites and players report. I date every figure, keep conflicting sources side by side and re-read the terms each month. I do not deposit or play for these guides, and affiliate links never change a verdict.
