What I found (checked 27 October 2026)
- Retrobet holds an active Curaçao licence, OGL/2024/161/0191, which the regulator lists under Stable Tech N.V. with retrobet.com on its domain list.
- ACMA added Retrobet to its blocked list on 18 March 2026, so it no longer loads for most Australians.
- Trustpilot gives 2.7 out of 5 from 345 reviews; the complaints are about pending withdrawals, repeated verification and winnings voided over the bet cap.
- Payout caps are €3,000 a week (about A$4,780), and there are no deposit limits in the account.
My verdict: is Retrobet legit?
Retrobet is a real, licensed offshore casino, not a fly-by-night site: its licence is on the regulator’s own record, its terms are published, and plenty of players report being paid. But it is not a casino I would point an Australian to now. ACMA has blocked it, its complaint record is heavy for a 2024 brand, and its responsible gambling tools are thin. If you are looking for somewhere to play instead, my Retrobet alternatives compare three options.

Retrobet's own site shows a "restricted region" page from my location, so I could not read its footer or terms directly. Every row above names where it comes from.
What checks out and what does not
CheckableLicence on the regulator's recordOGL/2024/161/0191 lists Stable Tech N.V. and retrobet.com as an approved domain.
ConcernBlocked in AustraliaACMA named Retrobet in its 18 March 2026 round of eight blocked offshore sites.
UnclearTwo company namesOlder reviews name Hollycorn N.V.; the regulator's record names Stable Tech N.V.
ConcernWithdrawal complaints37% of Trustpilot reviews are one-star, mostly pending or cancelled payouts.
ConcernThin limit toolsNo deposit or loss limits in the account; self-exclusion only through support.
CheckablePublished capsAbout A$4,780 a week and A$23,900 a month (€3,000 and €15,000), A$7.50 bet cap with a bonus, A$32 minimum.
In practice: a licence you can look up is the minimum, not proof that a casino pays smoothly. Retrobet passes the minimum; its complaint record is the open question.
Is Retrobet legal in Australia?
No online casino can be licensed in Australia. The Interactive Gambling Act 2001 makes it illegal to offer online casino games to people in Australia; it targets operators, not players. ACMA blocks offshore casinos, and on 18 March 2026 it added Retrobet to the list, together with MyStake, Frumzi, Greatwin, Oh My Spins and Viperwin, among others.
The block works at the level of Australian internet providers: the site simply does not load. It does not close your account or freeze your balance, so if you have money there, ask Retrobet’s support by email how to withdraw it. I do not publish mirror addresses, VPN advice or other ways around the block.
Retrobet did accept Australians before the block: AUD is in its currency list, and most of its Trustpilot reviewers write from Australia.
Which website is the real Retrobet?
Several sites use the Retrobet name, and they do not all belong to the casino.
| Site | What it is |
|---|
| retrobet.com | The casino’s domain, listed on the Curaçao licence record |
| retrobet.au | An affiliate information site, not the casino; its figures differ from every other source |
| retrobet.io, retro.bet, retrobet.net | Parked or for sale |
| ”Retrobet” run by Enigma Digital Solutions | A different casino with an Anjouan licence, aimed at Brazil; its Casino Guru score (5.6) is not this Retrobet’s |
| ”Retrobet TV” | An unrelated Turkish sports-streaming brand |
In practice: when you read a Retrobet review, check which company it names before trusting its figures.
Ratings from review sites
- Trustpilot2.7/5345 reviews: 46% five-star, 37% one-star
- LCB4.6/5272 player votes
- AskGamblers CasinoRank8.5/106 complaints, mostly payments
- KingBonus2/5Editorial review, updated September 2026
Scores are as published by each site on or before 27 October 2026; I did not score the casino myself. Casino Guru shows two "Retrobet" pages for two different companies, and its site blocked my connection, so I leave its score out.
What players report
I grouped the complaints by theme rather than quoting single angry reviews.
| Theme | What players describe | Where |
|---|
| Withdrawals | Payouts left pending or “reserved”, then cancelled, after full verification | Trustpilot (September 2026), AskGamblers |
| Verification | Repeated requests for the same documents at each withdrawal | Trustpilot (June 2026), Casino Guru complaints |
| Bonus rules | Winnings voided over an alleged breach of the bet cap | Casino Guru complaints |
| VIP limits | Weekly limits reduced, slowing payouts | Casino Guru complaints |
| Self-exclusion | A chat request redirected to email while deposits continued | Trustpilot (August 2026) |
Retrobet replies to almost all negative Trustpilot reviews, 96% by Trustpilot’s count, but the replies are templated and often weeks late.

Live tables come from Evolution, Pragmatic Play Live and Ezugi. There is a bonus-buy section and instant games, but no sportsbook.
